Now make your wish and wait to see the second star or your wish will not come true.


SPELL To protect yourself from hostile forces.


Collect four fallen twigs, one each of Hazel, Elm, Oak and Willow.


Hold them in the flame of a candle whilst chanting five times.


TURNER BE TURNED,


BURNER BE BURNED,


LET ONLY GOOD,


COME FROM THIS WOOD.


Then spit on each twig and break them in small pieces.


Now Put them into a fire to be burned.

CASTING A CIRCLE


Casting a circle before a spell is an important ritual. This mental and physical preparation helps you to be focused and will have a positive effect on your magic.

Facing north, trace a pentacle in the air with your wand. Do the same to the east, south and west.


To open a circle at the end of a spell, point your wand northwards and walk the circle in an anti-clockwise direction saying


I do not break this circle but the circle is undone.


The spell that I have cast it has begun.


Mindful of the witchs rede, Now the magic has been freed, I will harm no one.

Note that witches working in the southern hemisphere prefer to cast their circle in an anti-clockwise direction and open it clockwise.
